ANPC

Romania's national consumer-protection authority, handling complaints about misleading lending practices.

ANPC (Autoritatea Națională pentru Protecția Consumatorilor) is Romania's general consumer-protection authority, responsible for enforcing rules against misleading advertising, unfair contract terms, and abusive collection practices across all consumer sectors, not just financial services.

For fast-loan borrowers specifically, ANPC works alongside the BNR's more finance-specific supervision of IFNs: the BNR focuses on whether a lender is properly licensed and disclosing DAE correctly, while ANPC is the channel for broader complaints about how a loan was marketed or how collection was handled.
