Central de Riesgos SBS

Peru's free, SBS-run public credit registry, distinct from the private INFOCORP bureau.

The Central de Riesgos SBS is a credit-information registry run directly by Peru's financial regulator, the Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS), rather than by a private company. It records debts held with entities the SBS directly supervises — banks, cajas municipales and rurales, financieras, and edpymes — along with a monthly debtor rating on a five-level scale from Normal to Pérdida (loss).

Unlike INFOCORP, which is a private bureau covering a broader range of creditors including telecoms and retailers but limits free access to one report per year, a borrower's own Central de Riesgos SBS report can be consulted for free and without limit. Because the two registries cover overlapping but not identical sets of creditors, Peruvian fintech lenders often check both, and a clean record in one does not guarantee a clean record in the other.
