Plin

Plin is a shared digital-payment platform built into the mobile banking apps of four Peruvian banks — BBVA, Scotiabank, Interbank, and BanBif — rather than a standalone app of its own. A customer of any of these banks typically already has access to Plin inside their existing banking app, letting them send and receive money instantly using just a phone number.

Since 2023, Plin has been interoperable with Yape, BCP's wallet, meaning funds can move between the two systems at no extra cost. For Peru's fintech microloan sector, this matters because a lender that only disburses via Yape can still effectively reach a Plin user, and vice versa, which is part of why digital-wallet disbursement has become the default fast payout method across Peruvian online lending.
