Tasa EA (Efectiva Anual)

Colombia's standardized effective annual interest rate, capped by a legal usury ceiling.

Tasa EA is the effective annual rate every regulated Colombian lender must disclose, similar in purpose to TAE in Spain or CAT in Mexico. What sets Colombia apart is the "tasa de usura," a legally binding maximum rate set by the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia that no lender may exceed.

This usury cap tends to produce comparatively more moderate headline rates for Colombian fast loans than in markets without an equivalent ceiling, though the actual peso cost should still be checked for your specific loan size and term.
