TCEA (Tasa de Costo Efectivo Anual)
Peru's standardized total annualized cost rate for consumer credit.
TCEA is Peru's legally mandated measure of the total annualized cost of a loan, regulated by the Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS), and required to be disclosed before signing any credit agreement.
For short fintech microloans, TCEA figures are annualized from a much shorter underlying rate, producing large percentages even for a modest soles cost — the same annualization effect seen with TAE, CAT, and CAE elsewhere on this site.
