CIRBE
The Banco de España's central register of all bank credit exposure, distinct from ASNEF.
CIRBE (Central de Información de Riesgos del Banco de España) is a regulatory register that tracks every borrower's outstanding credit exposure reported by banks — not just defaults, unlike ASNEF, which specifically flags unpaid debt.
CIRBE is more relevant to mortgage and larger bank-lending decisions than to Spain's fast-loan (microcrédito) sector, since private short-term lenders generally cannot query it the way consumers often assume. ASNEF, not CIRBE, is the registry that typically affects fast-loan applications.
